What does a proper
home Wi-Fi setup include?

01

Wi-Fi network design

RF planning from your floor plan before ordering equipment. Access point positions calculated per room, per floor. No guesswork — coverage mapped before installation.

02

Mesh Wi-Fi vs wired APs

For most homes we recommend wired Ubiquiti UniFi access points over consumer mesh systems. Wired APs outperform mesh in concrete construction — the standard in Limassol villas.

03

Structured cabling

Cat6 cable run to each access point. In new builds through conduit. In retrofit via surface trunking planned to minimise visible runs.

04

Full house Wi-Fi coverage

Every floor, every room, terraces and pool area covered. Roaming tuned with BSS Transition (802.11v) — devices switch between APs without dropping calls or buffering.

05

Guest & IoT network setup

Separate networks for owner, guests and IoT/smart home devices on isolated VLANs. Guest Wi-Fi gets internet only. Standard on every installation.

06

Business Wi-Fi installation

Office, restaurant, short-let property — same UniFi platform, configured for your use case. Multiple SSIDs, client isolation, bandwidth management.

Not just access points.
Proper RF engineering.

RF planning before installation

Every villa network starts with a floor plan. We mark concrete walls, glass partitions, ceiling heights and planned AP positions before ordering equipment. In Limassol villas — concrete construction everywhere — wall attenuation is 12–18 dB per layer. We calculate coverage per floor, identify dead zones and specify the right number of access points before a single cable is run. No guessing, no extra visits.

Roaming tuning that actually works

Most "installed UniFi" networks roam badly — phones hold onto a distant AP long after a closer one is available. We configure BSS Transition (802.11v), band steering and minimum RSSI thresholds per site. Result: devices hand off cleanly between floors and outdoor areas without dropping calls or buffering video. We test roaming by walking through the property with active traffic and adjust until transitions are transparent.

Band steering and airtime fairness

Legacy 2.4 GHz devices slow down the entire network when they occupy airtime. We enable band steering to push capable devices to 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands, and configure airtime fairness so one slow device does not degrade everyone else. On villas with 20+ IoT devices alongside phones and laptops — this is the difference between a stable network and one that mysteriously slows down.

VLAN segmentation per use case

Owner network, guest network, IoT devices, CCTV cameras — on separate VLANs with firewall rules between them. Guests cannot reach the owner network or cameras. IoT devices cannot initiate connections to other segments. CCTV traffic is isolated and given QoS priority for recording reliability. Standard on every installation we do.

Common questions.

How much does Wi-Fi installation cost in Limassol?

A typical home Wi-Fi setup for a 3-bedroom villa: €800–1,500 including equipment, cabling and configuration. Larger properties or outdoor coverage add to this. Site visit and quote are free.

Why does my Wi-Fi not cover the whole house?

Most homes in Limassol are reinforced concrete — walls absorb Wi-Fi signal far more than lightweight construction. A single router or Wi-Fi extender cannot reliably cover a multi-floor concrete villa. Wired access points are the correct solution.

Is mesh Wi-Fi good enough for a villa in Cyprus?

Consumer mesh systems — Google Nest, Eero, TP-Link Deco — consistently underperform in concrete construction. They rely on wireless backhaul which degrades through thick walls. Wired UniFi access points deliver consistent speeds in every room.

Can you set up Wi-Fi in a finished property?

Yes. We run Cat6 cable in surface trunking, planned to minimise visible runs. Most retrofit installations are completed in one day.

Do you do business Wi-Fi installation in Limassol?

Yes — offices, restaurants, hotels and short-let properties. Same UniFi platform, configured for commercial use. Client isolation, multiple SSIDs, bandwidth management and remote monitoring.

Can you extend my existing Wi-Fi?

Yes. We assess your current setup, identify the problem and recommend the right fix — whether that is adding access points, replacing the router, or a full network redesign.

How long does Wi-Fi installation take?

A standard home Wi-Fi setup: 4–8 hours depending on property size and number of access points. We test roaming and coverage before leaving.
